Last week we decided to come together in blessing the pastor with new tools. We reached out asking for donations and nearly raised DOUBLE what we were asking for. We asked for $150 to buy the new tools and you guys…  we received OVER that amount in the first two hours of posting about it! How faithful is God! The very next day our host took us to the tool shop in the town and we had $120 for them to start with while we waited for the money to transfer to our accounts. This is what we were able to buy in our first round:

  • One Wheelbarrow

  • Two Pic Axes

  • Two chisel pegs

  • Four pairs of work gloves

  • One sledge hammer

  • One tape measurer (they were measuring with sticks before)

The host and his son who were picking everything out looked like two kids in a candy shop. It was Christmas Day and they were getting to pick out every single one of their presents. But the best part is that it wasn’t even for them. It was all for Pastor David! The host and his son help often at the work site, but they knew just how much this would bless and encourage pastor david.

So we showed up to the church and called Pastor David to the bottom of the hill (all of this caught on tape and shares on my Facebook). He was truly surprised and beyond greatful, high fiving each one of us and using the little bit of English he had to thank us. He even sat in the new wheelbarrow with all the new tools for a victorious picture.

We immediately got to work with the new tools and MAN what a difference it made. On hard rocks that we were giving so much effort to just make a scratch or dent… we were now making much less effort to have a rock split like the sea for Moses! There was a new rejuvenation that swept over each one of us.

And the best part is that so many groups in the future will be able to use these new tools, making the process that much faster and easier. We know that building this expansion is not the end-all be-all of this church. God is moving in it just as much now as He will once it’s expansion is complete. However, we wanted to lift the spirits of this pastor that has put his blood, sweat and tears for 15 years into this church. We wanted to bless all the hands to continuously help him on this project who work hard at their day jobs and then come here just to help a few hours of physical labor. We wanted to live out James 2:16 which says “If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it?”

So on behalf of team TNT I wanted to extend my sincerest of thank yous for bringing this blessing to life. God has blessed us Americans with an abundance of wealth so to share just a sliver of that goes an awfully long way. We have more money that will hit our account soon so we can go back to the tool store and buy more items like buckets and perhaps even a power tool!

YOU have made a difference for the Kingdom of God and have blessed an entire congregation here in Nicaragua!

P.S. Our wifi is very limited and not strong enough to upload photos to this blog site. So all my photos and videos of pastor David receiving the new tools will be on my Facebook!
