It is so hard to believe that next month is our final month of this 11-month, 11-country journey. We want to take in every minute and make the most of our small amount of remaining time on the field, and next month we get to do that in an exciting new way. The World Race is piloting a new kind of Month 11, tailoring it to help all of us transition better off of the field in a little more than a month. This can (and probably will) look different for all of us among X Squad. We decided to make Santo Domingo our home for the month knowing that there are ample opportunities for ministry there. And within those ample opportunities, we each get to decide what we want to fill our days with. As we get our feet wet in what it feels like to have a less structured schedule again, we’ll each determine what ministry we would like to work with, what the hours are, and what days we’d like to work. We also won’t be doing life together in our current teams, although we’ll all be living together as a squad in 4 apartments. There won’t be any required check-ins with leadership or team meetings, and this is to help all of us navigate how we want to handle our freedom once we get back home. This is kind of like a test-drive, but within the safety of our community, knowing we’re all there for each other.

In order for us to be in a location such as Santo Domingo where there were lodging options for all of us together as well as be a big enough city where there was an abundance of ministry opportunities for individuals to choose from, we’re having to do a little fundraising. Because we aren’t working with local hosts as usual, we’ve had to go with public lodging options, which in a big-city, doesn’t fit our $5/night housing budget. However, the Lord did provide us with a nice apartment complex that can house each of us for just a few dollars a day more than budget. As an entire squad, we’re seeking your help to raise $3,000 to cover the additional expense. We know that God is going to move in big ways next month, not just in each of us as we finish this Race well, but throughout the Santo Domingo community through us. Would you prayerfully consider helping us make that impact? All donations can be submitted through our squad’s GoFundMe at https://www.gofundme.com/xsquad-month-11
