Welcome to Life Jacket Graveyard
Here 500,000 and counting life jackets are left to wither away. During my last week here helping with the refugee crisis in Lesvos, Greece I got to see another side of the story. How many of these refugees have I met? How many didn’t make the boat ride? How many were deported? How many are living in freedom?
At camp, you don’t realize what all people just went through to get to this “no man’s land.” We drove to Lighthouse Beach and walked along the shores that are closest to Turkey, where human smugglers bring refugees over in the troves.
We walked past black rubber deflated dingy boats, made for 14 that carries across 70 people in each. And as we walked back someone picked up a tethered passport that blended in with the muck of the ground.
Winter is coming here in Greece, as temperatures have already started to drop to love 40s in the night and these people sleep in tents or outside with nothing but a blanket. The waters are more dangerous to cross.
That day forever changed how I saw life in the refugee camp. Please pray for these people who have touched my heart so dearly.
Heading to Malaysia!!
Tomorrow I’ll be leaving Europe and heading to Asia! I am beyond excited to see how God is going to move in Malaysia, this Muslim dominated culture. Please pray for safe travels and my health as I’m starting to get sick during these extended international travel days. Here are some fun facts about Malaysia:
Fundraising Updates
$2,450 AWAY
Final Deadline: 27 days!
$2,450 is all I have left before I’m fully funded! I am officially funded to get through South Africa. But I still need funds to finish my route from Namibia, Haiti and the Dominican Republic. Please prayerfully consider contributing (donate here) to God’s bank account to continue sending me to the nations, I’m not yet fully funded!
You are truly amazing and an inspiration. God chose you on this mission for a reason. You are a beautiful person with so much to offer. Praying for you as you continue on this amazing journey.
Since the first moment I saw the pictures I’ve wondered what I would do with my wife and 7 kids or now with my 9 grand daughters… would I risk their lives in hopes of something better? What a horrific decision to have to make in a desperate situation! What to even pray for these people? I know Jesus saves and brings fullness but that prayer seems to come up short in this case.
We really have to trust God to fill in the gaps and meet the needs of these very needy folks!
